Jack Straw is right!

As a Christian I firmly believe in a persons right to practice their religion without hindrance.

However the recent furore over Jack Straw's request that muslim women consider de veiling whilst in one of his surgeries has hacked me off!

Firstly it was only a request, its not law!

Secondly we are a society that relies on seeing a face in order to determine how a person is feeling!

I have a friend who was in an airport queue and whose passport was about to be checked by a veiled woman. He shifted to another queue rather than be seen by her saying "I refuse to be seen by someone whose face I cannot see especially as she is checking me for my right to be here". This was done quietly at the time but neverthless he has recounted the story to all and sundry many times.

I respect and encourage all womens rights. However a little more integration on the part of the currently veiled wouldnt go amiss !
